THE WHO - TOMMY TRACK RECORDS 2x 200g STEREO VINYL LP 1ST Pressing Limited Edition No 65998. This is one of four classic Who albums from 1969 to 1978 - the great age of British Bands. The two LP 1969 version of Tommy the very original first pressing an release of this classic album.

The Who, with their aggressive drive and anarchic performances were the first Mod band to make a big impact in the South East. Mods devoured US soul, R&B and Jazz hits until then, but now they had something of their own to support. But a rock opera format was unexpected and left many fans bemused until a few listenings overcame their reserve.

This is a great album, dynamic, attacking, strong and with a narrative moral purpose unusual for the time. The Album id is 613013/4, it is a Track Records release for Polydor, composed by Pete Townsend with tracks by drummer Keith Moon, John Entwhistle and'The Hawker' by the blues legend, Sonny Boy Williamson.

There are 24 tracks over 4 sides all produced by Kit Lambert. The disc conditions are excellent and it plays beautifully. It was only ever played on hi fi equipment using balanced arms and diamond needles. The cover shows some signs of wear especially scuffing and a slight split at the bottom of the main sleeve where discs were moved. The cover extends to 3 sections with blue black graphics on each of 6 sides.

There is an 8 sides companion folder insert with images and the words of the main tracks with the title - Limited Edition Number 65998. The owners were Soho Mods who owned a Lambretta 150cc Italian Scooter and a growing record collection, now partially up for sale. We inhabited the Ricki Tick Clubs, the Flamingo, the Scene, Marquee Clubs. This and the 3 companion albums also for sale, traversed England thrilling friends every where.
